If you’ve found this article, chances are you are trying to conceive and have a very definite idea or whether you want a boy or girl baby. Although there are definitive and expensive ways that you can chose the gender of your baby in gender selection clinics, this article will discuss natural methods that you can complete at home that will produce either a girl or boy baby depending on which you use.

The Differences In X / Y Chromosomes You Need To Understand When Trying Chose Your Baby’s Sex / Gender: When a couple is trying to conceive, a man’s sperm contains chromosomes that contain both X (girl) sperm and Y (girl) sperm. Once a woman ovulates, both should be available to fertilize the woman’s waiting egg. If an X sperm gets there first and is successful in fertilizing the egg, then a baby girl will be the results. If the Y sperm manages to be the victor, then the couple would have a son.

This seems easy enough, but there’s a little more to consider. The Y sperm (boy) are extremely fast movers, but in comparison to the X (girl) sperm, they are relatively weak and will not live nearly as long and can’t survive in a hostile or acidic environment. The girl sperm are slower, but to balance this, can survive for much longer in a harsher environment.

If You Want To Conceive A Girl: If you want a daughter, you should attempt to conceive approximately three days prior to ovulation and then stop. You’ll also want to find out your vaginal PH / acidity using testing strips. Then, you’ll need to change your acidity based on where you fall to get you into the best range that is conducive for you to have a girl baby. Another natural gender selection variable is intercourse / sexual positions. For a girl, you’ll want to use shallow penetration because this will deposit sperm further from the cervix and give the weaker boy sperm further to travel in a hostile environment. This will help ensure that as many of the boy sperm die off as is possible, giving the stronger girl sperm the edge.

If You Want To Conceive A Boy: Remembering that the boy sperm die off more quickly than their girl counterparts, you should attempt to conceive the day of ovulation. Any earlier than this gives the boy sperm a greater chance or weakening or dying off. You’ll also want to create a neutral alkaline environment using the same testing and alterations methods discussed above. Many women are naturally acidic and this will need to be remedied to get a boy baby. You’ll also want to use deeper penetration in your intercourse / sexual positioning since you’re trying to get the Y sperm as close to the cervix as possible making their trip to the egg shorter.

Obviously, to master all of these variables you need to be able to pinpoint your ovulation with great accuracy and you need to be able to successfully manipulate and alter your vaginal acidity and PH well enough to discourage the chromosomes of the gender you’re rather pass on at this time. I have a couple of blogs on which I offer hints and tips on how to naturally get the baby gender that you want.  Yesterday, someone left an email and asked “which day of my cycle will conceive a boy.”  I can and will give you the short answer to this question, but I want you to know that there are a few other things that you will need to do if you are trying to conceive a boy.  Using just one method can help to up your odds, but if you want odds that are as high as they can possibly be (better than ninety percent) you’ll need to address all of the variables.  I’ll tell you how to do exactly that in this article.

The Best Day In Your Cycle To Conceive A Boy: First, I want to tell you why timing your conception to coincide with ovulation is vitally important.  The sperm that produces boy babies is very fast, but very short lived and weak.  Boy or Y sperm can’t live for very long in the vaginal tract.  If you try to conceive before your egg is ready, most of the boy sperm will weaken or die off before they even have a chance.  So, the best day in your cycle to get a son or boy is on the day ovulation; however, the day following is OK too.

But, don’t make the mistake or trying to guess at this or leave this to chance.  I made the mistake of trying to use old fashioned methods like the basal temperature, cervical mucus, or the rhythm / calendar methods.  And, I just could not find my ovulation day.  I was having trouble getting pregnant and was afraid that I wasn’t ovulating at all. But, once I started using a saliva ovulation predictor, I discovered that in fact I was ovulating quite regularly – but on day 20.  So, if I had followed conventional wisdom and tried to conceive on day 14, I would have had a better chance of getting a girl.

Using The Sexual Positions That Will Conceive A Boy During The Right Time Of The Month:  If you want a boy baby, remembering that the boy sperm are fragile and quick to die off, use positions that place the sperm at the base of your cervix, so these little guys don’t have far to travel.  This is best accomplished with intercourse positions that use deep penetration. 

Knowing That Your Acidity And PH Are Every Bit As Important As The Day Or The Month In Which You Conceive (For A Boy Baby): So, we’ve addressed two things that need to happen to greatly increase your odds of having a boy in the family.  There is one more left and this is the one that scares people the most, but it really isn’t too hard if you have the right tools. 

The Y sperm are already weak, but they are made even weaker in a highly acidic environment.  So, you’ll need to make your vagina more of a friendly environment ( a lower PH) to the boy sperm.  You do this by consuming an alkaline diet and by douching with substances that will lower your PH (often much more than baking soda.)

This does not need to be difficult.  Get a PH tester at a health food store or online.  This will allow you to know if you are already ”in range” or if you will need to make adjustments.  There are food lists and douche directions that are available if you need to make changes.

Hopefully, you can now see that conceiving a boy is more than just taking one step on one particular day in your cycle.  You need to cover all bases, but this really is not as hard as you may think.

If you’re wanting to conceive a boy, either to carry on the family name, to balance your family, or to produce a sports fan or player, there are a few things you should know.

Understanding Y Sperm Characteristics: A man’s sperm contains two types of chromosomes: X and Y. If the sperm containing the Y (boy) chromosomes fertilize the egg first, it will result in a son. If the sperm containing the X (girl) chromosomes fertilize the egg, the conception will result in a daughter. This is simple enough, but there are many factors that can effect whether Y or X partners with the egg.

First, Y (boy) sperm are fast swimmers. Given no other variables, they generally reach the egg first. But, they are not as strong as the X (female) sperm and can not survive for long, especially if the vaginal environment / PH is one that is hostile to them.

Why Trying To Conceive Frequently Around The Time Of Ovulation Is Not Optimal For Getting A Boy: When most couples are trying to conceive, they will basically block out a period lasting several days in which they think the woman is most fertile. They will then have intercourse multiple times over this “fertility window,” hoping that one of these occasions is the one that produces their baby.

There is nothing wrong with this method if you are neutral about the sex of your baby, but if you want a boy, this is not the way to go. The reason for this is that if the sperm is released days prior to your ovulation, you’re more likely to conceive a girl because the X (girl) sperm are hardy enough to hang out and wait for the egg, but the boy sperm are not. They will mostly die off before the egg is released.

You Need Extremely Accurate Knowledge Of Ovulation To Conceive A Son: Since the boy sperm can’t survive for long, it’s optimal to conceive on the day of ovulation. There are many ways to predict this, but most require subjective evaluation of cervical mucus and positioning that can be very hard to read. Ovulation prediction kits are preferable. Of those, testing your saliva is by far the most accurate in my own experience. This is important because if you are off by even a day or two, you up the chances of conceiving a daughter.

Why Your Vaginal PH / Acidity Is So Important: It’s important to know your vaginal PH before you try to conceive. (You can find this out via PH testing strips which you can buy at a health food store.) An acidic environment is very hostile to male sperm. To conceive a son, you’ll need to obtain the most alkaline PH that you can. Some women (like myself, which is probably why my first two children were girls) are naturally acidic. If that’s the case, you need to know this so that you can make some major PH adjustments to get in the “boy zone.” It only took me one cycle to dramatically change my acidity.

How To Change Your PH / Acidity: You can change your vaginal acidity by either douching with very specific recipes depending on where you fall and / or by eating and avoiding specific foods. Gender selection clinics sell these douches for a lot of money, but you can make them at home. (I’m not talking about baking soda and water. Unless you’re already very alkaline, this probably won’t be enough.) If you’re opposed to douching, you can change your acidity through foods. I do not recommend supplements for this. It’s well known that it’s best to obtain nutrients through food rather than pills, and some of these supplements contain ingredients that can alter female sex hormones like estrogen and progesterone. This is counter to the predictable, regular ovulation you need for a baby boy.

Positioning When Trying For A Boy: Although intercourse positions are only a small piece of the gender selection puzzle, they are important. If you’re trying for a boy, you should go with intercourse positions that place the sperm as close to the cervix as possible. For most couples, this will mean deeper penetration. And, women should obtain an orgasm when trying for a boy, as it releases fluids that alkaline in nature. This will help, but you’ll still likely need to douche / and or alter your diet for the optimal “boy zone” environment.

My boyfriend and I told my parents and his parents that i was pregnant (I am now 15 weeks 6 days pregnant in 30 minutes, i’m in London)

We told them and my parents were a little mad but wanted to discuss it with me. His parents did as well, they’re not being as supportive as i’d like them to, but it’s okay, they’re not my parents and my bf isn’t the pregnant one. Anyway, My dad is happy for me believe it or not, he was sort of mad at first but he’s supporting me a lot in that sense.. as for my mom, my mother is very giddy and “into it” now. She can’t wait to be a grandmother. Haha. The point is though, she’s a little too into it. While i’m getting ready for bed, she always says goodnight to me, AND the unborn baby. I find it funny actually so that’s not really the problem. She’s assigned a nickname which i find cute and funny, “Lil Bean”, for my baby. So those aren’t the problems once again. The thing that annoys me is she will not let me drink even caffeine free coke, she thinks it will harm the baby, she won’t let me do pretty much ANYTHING that i used to do. She even suggested i start homeschooling now and i can rest at home (I’m not even showing that much yet! and theres only a few weeks of school left), she won’t let me play games with my dog, she thinks i will also harm the baby. I have in no way done anything to “harm” my unborn baby at all whatsoever, in fact, i go out of my way to make sure my baby is safe in there, and my actions won’t cause him or her problems, but i think my mom is over doing it. Who said playing fetch with your dog, going on escalators, drinking caffeine free coke, going to school, stretching, laying on your right side, walking down the stairs “fast”, eating popcorn, and “talking on the phone too much” AND MORE, can hurt your baby? I’ve NEVER heard about that, and now she’s just taking away the things i love but i know wouldn’t hurt the baby. Please help me, how can i tell her to stop a different way than i already have, so many times i’ve told her “Mom, i’m fine, i know what i’m doing” etc. According to her she knows i am responsible, but she constantly has this thought in her mind that i will really do something to harm my baby, which i would never do. I’m monitoring the food i’m eating, watching my weight making sure i don’t have too much junk food, and making sure all of the other requirements for a healthy pregnancy are taken care of, MYSELF.

Sure, i love the support and the fact that she cares, but sometimes it’s just too much, you know? How can i tell her in a more sincere way that might help her understand? I’m going to do it tomorrow since it’s night here and shes bound to limit me from my unharmful activities. Thank you so much!
